Washington, DC, July 1, 2025 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered proudly announces the election of William P. Barry as the firm's new Chair effective July 1, 2025. Barry, a seasoned litigator and immediate past Chair of the firm's Litigation department, succeeds Kathryn Cameron Atkinson, who has led the firm with distinction for the past six years. Litigation Member Adam Feinberg, who served alongside Atkinson as the firm's Vice Chair, will also step off the Committee.
"Will is a strategic thinker, a trusted leader, and a steadfast steward of our firm's values," said Atkinson. "His collaborative approach, deep integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence make him exceptionally well-suited to guide the firm into the next chapter. Miller & Chevalier is poised for continued strength and innovation under his leadership. I am delighted that he will be joined by a strong leadership team."
Barry joined Miller & Chevalier as a Member in 2017 and has built a national reputation as a trusted advisor to multinational companies, boards of directors, foreign trustees, investment funds, universities, and senior executives. With over 30 years of experience navigating complex, high-stakes investigations and litigation, he is known for helping clients resolve crises and refocus on long-term success. He is a recognized authority on corporate governance and board-level investigations.
In addition to leading Miller & Chevalier's Litigation department and serving on the firm's Executive Committee, Barry has held leadership roles in the broader legal and civic community, including as a board member of the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs and as former Chairman of Olney Boys & Girls Club, a non-profit sports association in Maryland.
"For more than a century, Miller & Chevalier has been a go-to Washington, DC, law firm for federal regulatory, litigation, and enforcement matters, grounded in a culture of integrity, collaboration, and client service," Barry said. "Under Kate's visionary leadership, we've deepened our core strengths and expanded into emerging areas of federal focus. I'm honored to build on her legacy and lead a firm that delivers exceptional counsel, cultivates top-tier talent, and helps clients thrive in an increasingly complex global environment."
Joining Barry on the firm's Executive Committee are Vice Chair Layla J.
