2014 Tax Policy Forecast Survey Media Coverage

Miller & Chevalier and the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) recently announced the results of the Eighth Annual Tax Policy Forecast Survey, measuring the current perspectives of leading business tax executives on the tax legislative agenda in 2014. In light of pending changes in tax-writing committee leadership, the pending Congressional mid-term elections and competing legislative priorities, tax reform has been pushed far down, if not off, the agenda for 2014. More than three-quarters of respondents believe that split party control of the House and Senate will result in little or no tax legislation this year, and not even one respondent predicted tax reform will be enacted in 2014. The survey is led by Miller & Chevalier Member Marc J. Gerson, who is Vice Chair of the firm's Tax Department and former Majority Tax Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways & Means.

To date, press coverage of the survey has included articles in a variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Politico, The National Law Journal, Bloomberg's Daily Report for Executives, The Boston GlobeTax Analysts, Law360, Accounting Today, Albany Business Review, Accounting Web, CityBizList Washington DC and the TaxProf Blog.
