Franco Jofré is a Senior Advisor in Miller & Chevalier's International Department, where he advises multinational companies, financial institutions, technology clients, and multilateral organizations on cross-border compliance, internal investigations, and complex regulatory matters. Leveraging prior experience at a leading law firm in Argentina and his years based in Mexico City, Mr. Jofré brings a practical, on-the-ground perspective to high-stakes matters across Latin America and the United States.
Mr. Jofré's practice focuses on internal investigations and enforcement-sensitive matters, including cross-border investigations involving allegations of fraud, corruption, and misconduct. He regularly advises clients in government-facing investigations and matters arising in high-risk environments, including those involving organized crime exposure and Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). He also supports clients in navigating interactions with regulators and managing exposure in multi-jurisdictional investigative contexts.
Additionally, he advises on the design and implementation of global compliance frameworks, with particular experience in anti-corruption and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) programs in highly regulated industries. He has a strong understanding of technology and emerging technologies more broadly, which informs his work with financial institutions, fintech companies, and other technology-driven businesses. His practice includes a particular focus on digital assets, payment systems, and blockchain-based business models, where he advises on regulatory risk, product structuring, and compliance strategies.
Mr. Jofré's practice also extends to United States customs and international trade matters, with a focus on trade between Latin America and the United States. He supports clients in enforcement matters, including CBP audits, prior disclosures, and other agency inquiries and proceedings. He also advises on customs compliance and tariff mitigation strategies, including classification, country-of-origin analysis, customs valuation, and supply chain structuring to reduce duty exposure.
