Kevin M. Downing*, Homer E. Moyer, Matthew T. Reinhard,* Mark Rochon, and James G. Tillen will be speaking at the 2015 Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) in Vienna, Austria on October 5-6, 2015.

Downing will present, as part of a panel, "Tax Planning Structures and Cross-Border Transactions: Criminal Implications for the Members of the Corporate Bodies and for the External Advisers in Case of Tax Audit." The session will explore the tax and criminal implications that may affect the members of the corporate bodies and tax advisers who have devised the structure and participated in its implementation.

Moyer will be co-chairing the IBA's Rule of Law symposium and moderating the panel "Egregious Failures -- and Notable Successes -- of the Rule of Law." Moyer and Tillen will present, as part of a panel, "Combating Judicial Corruption." This panel will explore the causes of judicial corruption. It will also examine the best practices of countries that have reduced or eliminated judicial corruption and efforts being undertaken by various organizations to combat it, including the IBA Judicial Integrity Initiative.

Reinhard will present, as part of a panel, "Policing the World: The Role of National Courts in Extra-Jurisdictional Conflict Crime." Topics include differing approaches to the jurisdiction of national courts for offences committed abroad and the not so universal approach to universal jurisdiction cases.

Rochon will present as part of a panel, "A Firm Hand on the Tiller -- Steering your Client through the Choppy Waters of a Major Corporate Crisis." This panel will offer practical guidance on how to manage the legal, operational and reputational aspects of a major corporate crisis.

Tillen will present, as part of a panel, "Governmental and Institutional Relations for Natural Resources Projects." This panel will look into how the investor should prepare to deal with such relations, design a suitable government and institutional relations policy and strategy, decide when and how to be proactive in creating and maintaining strong links with all stakeholders, aiming at how best to deal with expectations arising from the best management of resource wealth. Tillen will also present, "Corporate Corruption and Bribery," which will discuss global anti-corruption regulation and the role of legal counsel in education and prevention and key questions.
