Global Investigations Review
Latin America Practice Lead Matteson Ellis spoke with Global Investigations Review about the Trump administration's expanding use of anti-corruption, sanctions, money laundering, and national security enforcement tools to target cartel activity and the resulting risks for companies operating in Mexico and Latin America. "They're using so many different tools in the toolbox now to get at the same kind of core threat and are coordinated in a way that we haven't seen around one specific issue," Ellis said. He added, "We hear of investigations. We know of subpoenas being issued. Cases appear to be in the pipeline and we have not yet seen actual results."
