Sheri A. Dillon Named Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation

Washington, DC, August 6, 2026 – Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that Special Counsel Sheri A. Dillon is now Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Taxation, following the Section's Annual Business Meeting in Chicago. Her term will run to August 2027, after which she will assume the role of Chair. The ABA's Section of Taxation is the leading national organization for tax professionals, bringing together over 11,000 members, including lawyers, government officials, accountants, and academics. It provides leadership in tax policy, practice, and ethics, and works to improve and simplify the U.S. tax system. The Section also serves a critical role in providing and promoting pro bono service and public interest initiatives.

Dillon focuses her practice on federal tax controversy matters, representing corporate taxpayers, partnerships, tax-exempt organizations, and high-net-worth individuals in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) examinations and appeals, administrative claims, and litigation. Dillon also serves as the Director and President of the Washington DC Center for Public Interest Tax Law, a low-income taxpayer clinic. A nationally recognized tax lawyer, she is a respected leader within the tax community, having previously served as the ABA Section of Taxation's Vice Chair for Pro Bono and Outreach. Her appointment as Chair-Elect reflects her longstanding commitment to the tax profession, public service, and expanding access to justice for low-income taxpayers.
