In this article, The National Law Journal profiles Miller & Chevalier client Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) and Roger Wilson, who is BCBSA’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. The article notes that, beginning in 1999, a major initiative of Mr. Wilson’s was to develop a centralized system for purchasing legal and related services for both BCBSA and the individual Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans. One example Mr. Wilson cited was "a customized health care reform advisory service created by Miller & Chevalier, and lead partner Anthony Shelley, that provides systemwide advice, with [BCBSA] and the individual plans splitting the cost." According to the article, Mr. Wilson indicated that that move alone saved $18 million of the entire system's legal expenses in 2012.
