Ann Sultan Named to Global Investigations Review 40 Under 40

Washington, DC, April 27, 2020 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Ann Sultan, Member in the firm's International and White Collar Defense practice areas, was named to the Global Investigations Review (GIR) 40 Under 40 list of the world's leading young investigations specialists. The list, now in its third edition, features 40 accomplished investigations lawyers from around the world who, according to GIR, "will help shape the future of this fast-evolving area of law."

Sultan's practice focuses on internal and government investigations, international corporate compliance, and white collar defense, related primarily to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and anti-money laundering laws and regulation. She advises clients, including public companies and senior executives, on a wide range of topics, such as compliance assessments, due diligence, risk management, Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions, and interacting with external auditors in accounting and financial reporting matters. Before joining Miller & Chevalier, Sultan practiced as a corporate attorney at an international firm, specializing in corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions and financings.

"I have worked with Ann since joining VEON in 2016," Matthew Matule, Deputy General Counsel at VEON, told GIR. "She quickly establishes a rapport with employees at all levels of our organization and is able to navigate difficult culture and regulatory nuances to gather information, analyse situations and propose constructive paths forward with an understanding of our business, risks and priorities."

"Ann embodies the best of Miller & Chevalier. She is a consummate professional, dedicated to deploying her substantive expertise and cultural fluency in highly challenging environments to provide practical solutions to her clients," said Kathryn Cameron Atkinson, Chair of Miller & Chevalier.
