Candice C. James is a Senior Associate in the Tax department. She focuses her practice on international tax, tax planning, and tax controversy. 

Ms. James began her career at a Big Four accounting firm, with a focus on international tax matters, primarily servicing financial markets clients, banks, and insurance companies. Prior to joining private practice, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Charles Day in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. 

Ms. James is active in the American Bar Association (ABA) Taxation Section, including the Women's Tax Section Committee, where she currently serves as Vice Chair. She is the Secretary of the National Bar Association (NBA) Tax Section. Ms. James is a member of the Franklyn Bourne Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). While attending Howard University School of Law, she was a Senior Staff Editor of the Howard Human and Civil Rights Law Review.
