25th Annual Institute on Current Issues in International Taxation

Washington, DC

The 25th Annual Institute on Current Issues in International Taxation, produced in partnership by George Washington University Law School and the IRS, presents an opportunity for attendees to hear high-level Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department officials address current international tax issues and offer perspectives on trends and developments. Panel discussion enables specialists from the Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department to interact with leading private sector tax professionals and representatives of corporate tax departments. Highlights of the Twenty-Fifth Annual Institute include a discussion by the Competent Authority from the United States. The program also will address key practical issues faced by tax practitioners, corporate tax executives, and the Internal Revenue Service, with private sector and government panelists discussing new challenges for multinational corporations regarding anti-deferral and other base erosion rules, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing issues, ethical issues in international tax practice, treaty overrides, transaction characterization, cross-border partnership tax issues, the latest inbound, outbound, and treaty current developments, and the consequences when executives travel across borders.

Rocco Femia will chair the panel on "Current Outbound Partnership Issues."
