Three Miller & Chevalier Lawyers Selected as Members of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Class of 2023

Washington, DC, March 16, 2023 – Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that Ann Sultan, Maame Esi Austin, and Surur Fatema Yonce were selected as members of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's (LCLD) class of 2023. Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.

Sultan, a Member in the firm's International department, was named to the LCLD's 2023 class of Fellows. Designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience, this landmark intensive year-long professional development program connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel, managing partners, and their peers for mentoring and career guidance. Over the years, the LCLD Fellows program has built a reputation for helping to launch participants into top legal positions, with a substantial number of Fellows alumni becoming leaders within their organizations. Fellows have distinguished themselves from others by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory toward leadership positions.

Austin and Yonce, Senior Associates in the firm's Litigation department, were named to the LCLD's 2023 class of Pathfinders. The Pathfinder Program offers high-potential, early-career attorneys meaningful opportunities to build foundational leadership, professional networking, and strategic career development skills. Selected by leaders at LCLD Member corporations and law firms, Pathfinders have been identified as diverse, early-career emerging leaders who have distinguished — or have the potential to distinguish — themselves within their organizations.
