Miller & Chevalier Elects Michael N. Khalil as a New Member

Washington, DC, January 12, 2015 -- Miller & Chevalier Chartered announced today that it has elected Michael N. Khalil as a Member in the Employee Benefits practice.

Michael N. Khalil focuses his practice on the litigation of cutting-edge employee benefit issues in federal trial and appellate courts, particularly claims arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Mr. Khalil has represented plan sponsors, participants, insurers and financial service providers in complex ERISA litigation, including revenue-sharing and stock-drop class actions and pension plan termination cases against the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), and has particular experience in litigating breach of fiduciary duty claims and issues involving Title IV of ERISA. Beyond his ERISA litigation experience, Mr. Khalil has significant experience advising clients on civil litigation against the U.S. government, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) actions and discovery disputes. He also advises employers and insurers on a wide variety of issues related to the implementation of the ACA. Mr. Khalil holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Gettysburg College.
