Maria Elena Lapetina Named to Global Investigations Review Women in Investigations 2025
Washington, DC, June 17, 2025 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Maria Elena Lapetina, a Member in the firm's International department, was named to Global Investigations Review's (GIR) Women in Investigations 2025. The list, now in its fourth edition, features profiles of 100 investigations specialists from around the world. According to GIR, the goal of the publication is to highlight "100 exceptional women in the white-collar crime world, from future leaders to long-established stars."
GIR selected individuals following an open nomination process where readers were encouraged to put forward practitioners with compelling reasons why they deserved to be featured. Once selected, nominees were asked about themselves, including their career highlights and achievements, tips for amplifying diverse voices in investigations, and the hot topics that they expect to still be driving conversations in five years' time. When asked about the most fulfilling part of her job, Lapetina expressed her appreciation for the extraordinary mentors she's had throughout her career, and her gratitude for the opportunities she's had to mentor junior lawyers. "My mentors have taught, guided, and believed in me, and have also been loyal, patient, and dedicated supporters," she said. "As I grow in my own career, I have more and more opportunities to be a mentor, which I view as an enormous privilege. I love helping watch more junior lawyers grow professionally, develop skills, have new opportunities, and find their voices as advocates and counselors."
