Marc Gerson, former chief tax counsel to the House Ways and Means Committee, commented on bipartisan tax priorities that have been left out as House Republicans move forward with a $3.4 trillion tax-and-spending bill aligned with President Trump's agenda. Gerson noted that while a second reconciliation bill is possible, the fallout from the current partisan process may complicate bipartisan cooperation. "There is a question of kind of the fallout from this bruising reconciliation bill, and how quickly the parties turn to working on a bipartisan bill," Gerson said.
