We are pleased to share the publication of the fifth edition of Global Investigations Review's The Guide to Compliance. Alejandra Montenegro Almonte co-edited the edition and co-authored the Global Compliance Requirements and Enforcement chapter, "Elevating compliance standards: what companies must know to meet DOJ and SEC expectations," with Alexandra Beaulieu and *Elinor McNamee. The Guide is the first of its kind "to tackle the compliance side of the enforcement equation in a systematic way." 
 
In their chapter, the authors discuss the principal sources of U.S. compliance guidance issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) including recent several developments related to enforcement guidance on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the selection of monitors, the Corporate Whistleblower Awards Pilot Program, and the issuance of a single DOJ Corporate Enforcement Policy. The chapter explores how DOJ and SEC guidance continues to shape expectations for corporate compliance programs, and the steps companies can take to assess and strengthen their frameworks. As the authors note, however, "[w]hile enforcement priorities may have shifted, the aforementioned policy changes do not significantly alter the importance or significance of robust compliance programmes for companies subject to US jurisdiction."
