"Chief Judges Announce Pro Bono Leaders Among D.C. Firms"

04.24.2018

Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that the firm was named a pro bono leader in Washington, DC by the federal Chief Judges of the District of Columbia. Miller & Chevalier was one of only four firms with 60 percent or more of its attorneys contributing at least 50 hours of pro bono work in 2017. To qualify for the honor, firms with 25 or more lawyers must have at least 40 percent of all attorneys spend at least 50 hours per year on pro bono work. In all, a record 37 firms were recognized this year at the circuit's annual "40 at 50" Judicial Pro Bono Recognition Breakfast. "I am pleased to see so many firms with a strong pro bono commitment," Chief Judge Merrick B. Garland said. "At our first recognition breakfast in 2002, only seven qualified."

This recognition was included in coverage by the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit and Bloomberg Big Law Business.
