Marc Gerson commented on the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation's (JCT's) usage of its blue book to make technical corrections to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA). House Ways and Means Committee Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX) said the public should use the JCT document as the basis for draft technical corrections in the coming year. "The number of technical corrections identified in the blue book is beyond what Chairman Brady has proposed in his year-end bill, so the blue book provides a preview of what a future technical corrections bills will look like," said Gerson, Firm Chair and former tax counsel for the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means.
