Tax Notes

Marc Gerson commented on the likelihood of advancing tax policy changes during the lame-duck session of Congress. Gerson, Firm Chair and former tax counsel for the House Committee on Ways and Means, said "'tax is not likely to be a driver in the lame-duck,' so any agreement on those issues will need to find a legislative vehicle to be considered." Negotiations on "traditionally bipartisan items like tax extenders and technical corrections" could become more complicated during the lame-duck session, he added.
