Miller & Chevalier Staff Attorney Receives 2016 Caring Heart Award

Washington, DC, November 17, 2016 – Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that Staff Attorney Karin Larson was awarded the 2016 Caring Heart Award for her work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer in Anne Arundel Country, MD. In her 22 years as a CASA volunteer, Larson has advocated for more than 25 children, first in Washington state and then in Maryland.

"Karin is a true ambassador for our CASA program," Anne Arundel Country CASA Executive Director Rebecca Tringle said. "She can always be counted on to help out at our fundraising events and participates in training our new volunteers by serving on the CASA panel."

Larson feels a strong connection to the children she advocates for. "I was interested in becoming a CASA volunteer from the very beginning," said Larson, who began volunteering as a CASA in 1994. "The heart of why I volunteer as a CASA  is because [my brother] Kevin and I were those children and we know what kids without a CASA do – struggle to survive, getting through childhood as best you can – hoping that just one adult would speak up for and support what's best for you," she said.

Miller & Chevalier is proud to support CASA with grant funding through the Miller & Chevalier Foundation.
