"Experts Praise New Acquisition Workforce Training Requirements"

Government Executive

Jason Workmaster was quoted regarding the $738 billion fiscal 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which includes new provisions directing the U.S. Department of Defense to redesign the workforce training process to align with the private sector. While the goal is to streamline the contracting process, government contracts practitioners have mixed views about the potential effectiveness of the provisions. "If streamlining is meant to mean that we're going to change the system so as to make it more attractive for commercial companies to do business with the government," Workmaster said, "I don't see this bill as pushing us very far in that direction."
