In the July 2020 edition of the American Bar Association (ABA) Cartel & Criminal Practice Committee Newsletter, Lauren Briggerman summarized the ABA 2020 International Cartel Workshop demonstration "Do I Need a Lawyer? An Individual Meets with Counsel." The demonstration, a mock introductory meeting between an individual and her prospective attorneys, focused on an executive needing individual representation resulting from a company's investigation of alleged cartel conduct related to no-poach, market allocation, and launch coordination schemes. Briggerman detailed the steps taken by attorneys in conducting their initial meeting with a potential client which included developing rapport, setting ground rules, confirming facts, and explaining possible legal options.
