Miller & Chevalier Webinar: FCPA Summer Review 2015

Although the pace of announced enforcement actions under the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) has slowed considerably in 2015, there were a number of developments in the first half of the year that have implications for corporations conducting business outside of the United States. As reported in our FCPA Summer Review 2015, these developments, which include recent FCPA dispositions by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission and non-U.S. corruption-related enforcement efforts, provide valuable lessons regarding corruption risk areas and compliance strategies. Meanwhile, the Iran nuclear deal has sparked questions from clients eager to understand its likely practical implications and timing. Miller & Chevalier's FCPA and International Anti-Corruption Practice held a webinar discussing the following recent developments:

  • Risks and rewards in cooperating with government investigations
  • Expanding enforcement agency expectations for internal controls
  • Cluster of commercial bribery prosecutions
  • "Operation Car Wash" update -- new developments in Petrobras scandal
  • Iran nuclear deal -- who can expect sanctions relief and when?
