Tim O'Toole comments on yesterday's Supreme Court decisions restricting the honest services fraud law to bribery and kickbacks, potentially making it harder for prosecutors to win convictions when money did not change hands or a gift was not tied to a legislative action. "Until today's decision, the honest-fraud statute was considered a general dishonesty-crime law, so anything that looked unethical or sleazy could become part of a case," said O'Toole.
