Bloomberg Law

Richard Mojica discussed the responses of various companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), which took effect in June. The UFLPA assumes that any product made with goods even partially sourced from the Xianjing region of China has been made with forced labor and therefore cannot be imported into the U.S. unless a company can prove otherwise. Even big box retailers and commercial airlines are seeking advice on the UFLPA, Mojica said, adding that he has heard from a range of industries seeking to ensure that their upstream suppliers are complying with the law.
