Miller & Chevalier Lawsuit on Behalf of Client Ensco over Offshore Drilling Regulation Discussed in Wall Street Journal and New York Times; Adam Feinberg Quoted by Bloomberg and the Associated Press at Federal Court Hearing

Miller & Chevalier obtained an injunction for Ensco Offshore Company in a lawsuit challenging, among other things, the Department of the Interior's delay in issuing offshore drilling permits. Articles on the ruling appeared in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

Bloomberg quoted Adam Feinberg at the injunction hearing in January. "There has been no activity for about three months after the moratorium has been suspended," Feinberg said. None of the permits that would have been barred by the moratorium has been approved since the ban was lifted, he added.

The Associated Press also covered the January hearing. Since the government lifted its temporary ban on deepwater drilling in October, offshore operators have submitted 13 permit applications for drilling activities that were barred under the moratorium, but none have been approved, Feinberg said. "We believe there’s been a pattern of bad faith," he said.
