Matthew Reinhard and Matteson Ellis Named to Global Investigations Review 40 Under 40

Washington, DC, April 1, 2014 -- Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Matthew Reinhard, a Member in the firm's Litigation Department, and Matteson Ellis, Special Counsel in the firm's International Department, were named to Global Investigations Review (GIR) 40 Under 40, a list of the world's leading investigations specialists. GIR selected the 40 investigations lawyers from around the globe based on firm nominations and both peer and client references.

"Investigations work has been a focus of my career," Reinhard said. "I have been fortunate to work with great mentors, who have really shaped the kind of investigative lawyer I've become." Reinhard works with multinational companies on international investigations and frequently conducts internal investigations on behalf of clients into allegations of violations of the FCPA. He has written on the anti-corruption challenges to the industry surrounding indigenization and technology transfer efforts underway in many West African nations.

"The field of investigations fell into my lap," Ellis said. "I happened to join a law firm - Miller & Chevalier - that was a leader in FCPA investigations before most people knew what the FCPA was. I was able to cut my teeth with the best." Ellis has investigated fraud and corruption and supported administrative sanctions and debarment proceedings for The World Bank and The Inter-American Development Bank. His work has included numerous high-profile matters in the public spotlight.

"It has been a pleasure to watch my colleagues grow into well-established investigations lawyers who are now being recognized on a global scale," said Mark Rochon, Chair of Miller & Chevalier's Litigation Department. "We are proud of the work they are doing on behalf of clients in this growing area of the law."

"These truly are the world's best young investigations specialists," said GIR in a statement. "One look at the significance of the cases they're working on, the praise from their clients and, indeed, the quality of the firms they're working for will confirm this."

"We congratulate both lawyers for earning this well-deserved recognition from their clients and peers," said Kathryn Cameron Atkinson, Chair of Miller & Chevalier's International Department. "This recognition is a testament to their exceptional global investigations work and commitment to client service."
