Marc Gerson, former majority tax counsel to the House Ways & Means Committee, comments on the legislative prospects for the extension of the tax provisions contained in the so-called "extenders" package.  “Over time, they’ve been collected together and considered as a package.  Some of these provisions move by inertia.  There hasn’t been a separate evaluation of their merits,” Gerson says.
