Marc Gerson, Chair of Miller & Chevalier and former tax counsel to the House Committee on Ways and Means, commented on the heightened risk of drafting errors as a result of the speedy passage of the U.S. tax reform bill. Gerson said that even bills passed after months of work end up with errors that have to be fixed later, in what is known as a technical corrections process.
