Kate Atkinson comments on the News Corp. phone-hacking scandal, which has yielded a heap of evidence that the company’s British tabloids have bribed law-enforcement officers in pursuit of scoops.  Regarding the U.S. authorities possible investigation of News Corp. under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Atkinson says, “It’s a new industry brought into the spotlight.”  She continues, “Fifteen or 20 years ago, it was a medieval guild in terms of the people who worked in [FCPA] and thought about it.”
