Jorge Castro, a former Counselor to the IRS Commissioner, commented on the selection of David Padrino to serve as the IRS's Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer, a newly created leadership role charged with executing the IRS Strategic Operating Plan per the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Castro called the chief transformation officer the "second most important position at the IRS in terms of ensuring an effective implementation of the strategic operating plan" and ensuring the IRS funding provided by the IRA is "properly administered and executed."
