James Tillen discussed the implications of the Department of Justice's (DOJ) current priorities for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement, which include cases impacting national security and economic interests and not on "routine business practices." "I think there will be some pressure on compliance officers to loosen the controls on gifts, travel, and entertainment," said Tillen. "That comes with some risks," Tillen continued, "including potentially violating domestic anti-corruption laws in that country and running up higher entertainment costs."
