Anthony F. Shelley, Marianna G. Dyson,* and Theresa S. Gee were quoted regarding Gee's recent arrival at Miller & Chevalier. Gee joins the firm from the Washington, DC office of O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where she focused her practice on litigating Employee Retirement and Income Security Act (ERISA) matters and counseling clients on fiduciary responsibilities under ERISA. Prior to entering private practice, she was a Deputy Associate Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Office of the Solicitor, responsible for ERISA litigation and advice.

Gee's "insight into the way the DOL operates, combined with the excellent counsel she provides her clients, provides [the firm] with an invaluable skill set," said Miller & Chevalier Firm Chair Anthony F. Shelley. "Her addition will complement our already strong employee benefits and ERISA litigation practices, and I'm pleased to welcome her to the firm." Marianna G. Dyson, Chair of the firm's Employee Benefits practice, said Gee's addition "will be enormously valuable for our clients," given "the flurry of enforcement actions we've seen from the DOL, and the potentially broadened scope of who is deemed a fiduciary."

Asked why she joined Miller & Chevalier, Gee said the breadth of the firm's ERISA practice, as well as its focus on litigation, regulations, consulting and tax work was a good fit for her "The firm was appealing because these are all aspects of my practice that I wanted to grow," she said. "I'm very happy to be here and excited to help my clients." Gee plans to use her prior experience at DOL to continue helping clients "navigate this heavily regulated environment," she added.

Coverage of Gee's arrival at Miller & Chevalier has been included in The Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, The American Lawyer, The Deal, Thomson Reuters, JD Journal and CityBizList.
