Latin American Corporate Counsel Association

Alejandra Montenegro Almonte was quoted on her arrival at Miller & Chevalier in August after leaving her previous position as Division General Counsel at gategroup. On her new role at Miller & Chevalier, Montenegro Almonte said, "Assisting in building compliance programmes, helping companies implement them, conducting internal investigations and helping to remediate anything that comes out of those investigations has been a focus of my practice so far and I am really looking forward to bringing it to the firm." She anticipates that her area of practice will grow as Latin American countries continue to implement anti-corruption regulations. "Chile has recently passed a strong anti-corruption reform, Mexico is following suit and obviously Brazil is well on its way to implementing its broad anti-corruption programme -- so it's a region that is ripe for this kind of work," she said.
