In this article, Alan Horowitz's recent post on Miller & Chevalier's Tax Appellate blog is quoted regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's granting of an extension to the government to file a petition for certiorari in United States v. Quality Stores Inc. This extension moves the due date from April 4 to May 3.

In his blog post, Horowitz said, "[w]ith this extension. . .the Court likely will not decide whether to grant certiorari until early October." Horowitz added that, "if the Court were to grant certiorari, the case probably would be argued in late 2013, with a decision on the merits expected by June 2014."
