Marc Gerson, Firm Chair and former tax counsel to the House Committee on Ways and Means, commented on tax executives' desire for additional regulatory guidance after the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA), particularly with regards to the international provisions of the law. "I think folks are waiting for a lot of issues to hopefully be decided in the final regulations. That's why I think there’s still that level of uncertainty," Gerson said. "It’s a very difficult legislative environment—whether for technical corrections, more substantive changes or tax legislation generally."
