"New Tax Law Tests Grassley-Wyden Relationship"

MLex US Tax Watch

Jorge Castro was quoted on the working relationship between the leaders of the Senate Finance Committee and the outlook for potential technical corrections to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) and other important tax legislation. "Senator (Charles) Grassley (R–IA) will face pressures from the White House to preserve the 2017 tax reform bill. Whereas Senator (Ron) Wyden (D–OR) will want to join Congressman Neal, the new House Ways and Means Committee Chairman, in revisiting the tax reform provisions and studying their effectiveness," Castro said. "That will cause tension between Senators Grassley and Wyden, but they have been around long enough to know how to navigate the politics in order to pass effective legislation and get stuff done."
