Andy Howlett and Robert Kovacev will speak at the 38th Annual TEI-SJSU High Tech Tax Institute on November 8, 2022, in Palo Alto, California.

Howlett will present, as part of a panel, "Crypto Opportunities and Compliance Considerations." This panel will discuss the new reporting requirements under §6045, issues businesses must address in holding cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, tax and GAAP treatment of digital assets including NFTs, and why and how companies should consider digital assets in their financing activities.

Kovacev will present "Federal Tax Controversy – The New Normal," a panel discussion on the changes in IRS operations post-COVID. Panelists will also provide an update on hiring, e-signatures, crypto enforcement, ERC enforcement and processing of claims, research credit claimed on amended returns, and the expected impact of funding from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
