John Davis Discusses BAE Plea Agreement in Main Justice

Subtitle
"BAE's Settlement Affecting Government Contracts"

Main Justice

Commenting on BAE's settlement with the Justice Department, John Davis said the plea was deliberately structured not to include FCPA charges to prevent BAE from being debarred, among other reasons. "There was a question of whether [an FCPA charge] could lead to debarment," said Davis, adding that BAE's contract with the Department of Defense may have shielded it from the FCPA. He also noted that BAE could face other lawsuits, both in the U.S. and abroad, saying "It will be interesting to see what else they get hit with in terms of other legal action."
