Larry Gibbs commented on the decision by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to merge three advisory panels in 2019 – the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council, the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee, and the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities. Gibbs, a former IRS Commissioner, said the combination will reduce administrative costs "without sacrificing the benefit of the advice provided to" the IRS.
