Sandeep Prasanna Named 2022 MPP Alumnus of the Year by UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs

Washington, DC, April 27, 2023 – Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Sandeep Prasanna was named 2022 Master of Public Policy (MPP) Alumnus of the Year by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Luskin School of Public Affairs. The Alumni of the Year award honors members of the UCLA alumni community who have been impactful through community service, public service, university service, and/or professional achievement. By recognizing alumni, the award hopes to inspire leaders and change agents who advance solutions to society's most-pressing problems.

Professor Mark Peterson, Interim Public Policy Chair at UCLA Luskin, made the announcement, saying, "After serving in several important staff positions in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, and as presidential appointee in the Department of Justice, Sandeep most recently served as Investigative Counsel on the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol. His diligent investigative contributions on this committee will have far reaching consequences — working to preserve democracy is quite a good gig for an MPP alum. As a testament to his expertise, Sandeep was recently recruited as Senior Associate at Miller & Chevalier Chartered, one of Washington, DC's leading law firms in tax law, litigation, international law, government affairs, and employee benefits, and he is an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center."

"Luskin showed me how policymaking happens in the real world, when politics, competing stakeholder interests, and the news cycle can make or break an agenda," Prasanna noted. "The MPP program taught me not just how to think and strategize, but also how to take action. It'll take a lot more work to feel like I deserve this award, but I'm looking forward to the challenge — and I can't wait to find more opportunities to stay involved with the UCLA community."
