In this article, Dawn Murphy-Johnson, Lauren Briggerman, and Kirby Behre discuss four notable investigations against corporate executives that occurred in the fourth quarter of 2016: the Volkswagen emissions investigation; the Federation Internationale de Football Association corruption investigation; and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations related to Venezuelan oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA and Hunt Pan AM Aviation. "As we move forward into 2017," the authors wrote, "the DOJ likely will bring additional charges against individuals in these investigations in light of breadth of the alleged misconduct and media attention they have received."
