In this article, Fred Oliphant and Allison Rogers* discuss workplace wellness programs particularly as they relate to nonprofit organizations. Oliphant and Rogers summarize the different categories of wellness programs and the applicable requirements under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as other federal and state laws. The authors also include a checklist of some of the things an employer may want to consider before implementing a wellness program.
