Kevin Miller* is a Senior Trade & Security Consultant. He has experience in export/import regulations, economic sanctions, and regulatory compliance and investigations. Mr. Miller regularly prepares and submits license applications under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), economic sanctions regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations, and nuclear related licenses issued by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy. In addition, he assists with export and import classification matters, e-FCL filings with the Defense Security Service (DSS), regulatory due diligence and notifications in merger and acquisition transactions, preparation of joint voluntary notices to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and related FOCI mitigation measures, training and compliance programs, and internal investigations and voluntary disclosures. Mr. Miller also monitors legislative and regulatory developments in the area of economic sanctions and export controls, and performs research and analysis for clients regarding these issues.
Previously, Mr. Miller served as an Export Compliance Administrator with the Survivability and Protection Systems business at BAE Systems. While there, he served as the key point of contact for export compliance matters related to the business unit, prepared license applications and technical assistance agreements, and monitored the export and import of technical data, hardware, and services. In addition, he had oversight of compliance with NISPOM and Special Security Agreement requirements.
Mr. Miller has co-authored a number of articles on export controls and economic sanctions.
