Collmann Griffin is an Associate in the International Department. His practice focuses on international trade, with an emphasis on economic sanctions, export controls, customs, and tariffs. In the course of his practice, Mr. Griffin advises clients on day-to-day compliance issues and supports internal investigations, risk assessments, and gap analyses in his areas of expertise. He also regularly interfaces on behalf of his clients with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Prior to joining Miller & Chevalier, Mr. Griffin served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge John M. Rogers on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. During law school, Mr. Griffin interned at the USTR Office of General Counsel (OGC) and Interagency Trade Enforcement Center (ITEC). He also served as Executive Editor for the Georgetown Environmental Law Review.
Mr. Griffin speaks, reads, and writes Russian. Prior to law school, Mr. Griffin worked as a translator for a Russian news agency and lived in Moscow, Russia, and Taiyuan, China.
