Timothy O'Toole was quoted regarding the Department of Justice's (DOJ's) criminal investigation into potential Iran sanctions violations by Chinese telecommunications company Huawei Technologies. "Coming so soon after the order placing ZTE on the Denied Parties list, these combined actions suggest that both DOJ and the US Commerce Department are very serious about enforcing restrictions on the re-export of US-origin goods to embargoed countries, especially Iran," O'Toole said, adding that, "other telecom companies, both inside and outside [the United States], should also pay careful attention to this investigation, to the extent they are also using US-origin goods in their products."
