Three Miller & Chevalier Lawyers Selected as Members of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Class of 2020

Washington, DC, February 1, 2020 – Miller & Chevalier is pleased to announce that Amelia Hairston-Porter, Marcus A.R. Childress, and Elizabeth J. Jonas were selected as members of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's (LCLD) class of 2020. Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.

Hairston-Porter, Counsel in the firm's Litigation Department, was named to the LCLD's 2020 class of Fellows. Participants in the Fellows Program come from law firms and in-house legal departments nationwide and engage in a year-long program designed to assist experienced practitioners in leadership development through relationship building, in-person training, peer-group projects, and extensive contact with LCLD's top leadership.

Childress and Jonas – both of whom are Senior Associates, also in the firm's Litigation Department – were named to the 2020 class of Pathfinders. The Pathfinder Program offers mid-level attorneys meaningful opportunities to build leadership, professional networking, and strategic career development skills.

"The LCLD's Fellows and Pathfinder Programs do a fantastic job advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and present excellent opportunities for attorneys to enrich their leadership and career development skills," said firm Chair Kathryn Cameron Atkinson. "We're proud of Amelia, Marcus, and Elizabeth for being recognized by the LCLD, and we look forward to their continued substantial contributions to our firm and the legal profession as a whole."
