"House GOP launches push for permanent individual tax cuts"

Associated Press

Marc Gerson, Firm Chair and former tax counsel for the House Committee on Ways and Means, commented on the Tax Reform 2.0 listening session framework released by House Republicans, which in part would make permanent the individual tax cuts and passthrough deduction included in last year's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. "It's going to identify Republican priorities," Gerson said of the framework. While passage of the proposals is expected in the House of Representatives, passage in the Senate is less clear. "They'll see what comes out" of the House, Gerson added.

Gerson's comments were included in coverage by CNBC, The Washington Post, Fox Business, and CBS News, among many other outlets.
