Marc Alain Bohn Named to Global Investigations Review 40 Under 40

Washington, DC, September 5, 2017 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Marc Alain Bohn, Counsel in the firm's International Department, was named to the Global Investigations Review (GIR) 40 Under 40 list of leading young investigations specialists. The list, now in its second edition, features 40 accomplished investigations lawyers from 11 countries "who will help shape the future of this fast-evolving area of law," GIR said in a statement.

Bohn, who began his career at Miller & Chevalier, focuses on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other areas of international regulatory compliance, including export controls and economic sanctions. He regularly advises multinational companies on compliance and enforcement matters and has broad experience conducting internal investigations and representing companies before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

"I am honored to be selected as one of GIR's 40 Under 40," said Bohn, who named several firm lawyers as major influencers on his career. "I cut my teeth as a young investigations lawyer working on a range of projects with James Tillen, the vice chair of Miller & Chevalier's international department. James taught me to consider all angles during an investigation while avoiding time-consuming rabbit holes that can increase cost. … The compliance perspective I bring to my investigations practice was ingrained in me by Kate Atkinson, the chair of our international department. Kate's focus in investigations extends beyond merely stopping wrongdoing to meaningfully remediating gaps in controls that enabled the misconduct to occur."

"Marc brings to his work a deep understanding of compliance systems and internal investigations, along with an encyclopedic knowledge of the FCPA, all of which are highly valued by our global client base," Atkinson said. "It is a pleasure to see him recognized by GIR for his client work and contributions to this area of the law."
