If the pandemic continues, there will be increasing pressure for Congress to consider additional relief packages. Ponds noted that an option for future coronavirus-related legislation is for Congress to repeal some of the TCJA's scheduled future tax increases and expirations, which "could alleviate the economic impact of essentially shutting down the country."
