Jorge Castro was quoted regarding the announcement that Bridget Roberts will serve as acting National Taxpayer Advocate beginning July 31, 2019. Castro, who has previously worked with Roberts, said she will likely endeavor to carry out many of the same priorities as her predecessor, especially at the start of her new role. "I think for the time being she's going to keep the ship going in the same direction," Castro said, adding "as she gets some wind under her sails, she'll obvious stake her own priorities." Castro described Roberts as an "honest broker" with a deep understanding of tax policy.
